Arthur Brown- The Crazy World of Arther Brown. 1968

Arthur Brown. Having many outrageous and deeply theatrical live performances, careening music ensembles, a four octave vocal range, a witchdoctor getup, AND a tribal painted face threw this loon into stardom instantly. This album is extremely entertaining if you can get around the absurdity of it all. With the rest of the band dressed up as henchmen from the dark ages, he floats around the stage with a head full of fire. Musically, I'm a sucker for the classic electric organ which has a big role in almost every song. Flutes, brass, and strings all come in very appropriately forcing the scale of the whole thing into huge conflagration. This album most certainly has the best song intro ever with "Fire". Definitely great unique freak out music.
