The Jacobites- Robespierre's Velvet Basement. 1985

Amazing listen. This album has some great bowie/bolan revival highlights. Really felt like listening to one of the classics right away. The opening song "Big Store" is a deliciously sour piece of satire with a kickass opening guitar riff (nerr nerrrr nerrr nerrr neeeeer neeeeerr!!!). Aside from looking like vampires, Jacobites have some of the loosest swagger of any other while still putting forth a huge amount of emotion into their songs. You have to listen to track 8 on the 2nd cd "Before I Die", while it has a much different sound to the rest of the album, still a gem. Worth every minute!!

Nico- Chelsea Girl. 1967

I can't get the first two songs of this album out of my head, so in doing this, I am temporarily banishing them from my hum track! No drums, no bass, just simple orchestral arrangements at the most. It's pretty folky, but more than that its just a hands down beautiful listen.
