Anyways........

So, sorry for not posting in such a long time. I've been eating up this Winter Break like black hole. I'm here to wish you a Happy New Year and make up for all the posts I've missed, mostly with stuff I've been listening to. Sorry if I don't write a review for each one. I've got a couple hopefuls to join me in my ultimate destiny power blog, so there will be even more cool stuff to listen to... yay!

Starflyer 59- Talking Voice Vs. Singing Voice & Leave Here A Stranger. 2005 & 2001

Ahhh, the cover sucks. If you like melancholy pop music, give yourself a double kick super smile. TV vs. SV and many others like this have made a push away from the ultra mainstream while still maintaining a well defined pop edge. It has a super crisp feel to it, synth robots accompanied by brass and strings really cut a clear edge, while the guitar searches for somber details. Some songs seem like direct derivatives of New Order, and for the most part works out. While Leave Here A Stranger takes more of a relaxed guitar lead, blahblahblah. I for one find this kind of stuff completely addicting which is probably a bad thing.

The Go Team- Archer Come Sparrow. 1989

Not to be confused with the 2000 now in your face pop band The Go! Team, the real go team is written the exact same except for the "!"? I honestly don't know anything about the original go team besides that they were from the late eighties which included calvin johnson, tobi vail, and a rotating cast of others, yeeeeahh. The music gets an irrelevant 4 out of 5 cooly cool smiles.. the album ended up with a beautiful inner shine due to the homemade warm and fuzzy feeling of the whole thing. The lo-fi quality and poppy direction really mix well together to give a super duper cooly cool eye twinkle, from a secret admirer (me). Take a..
